Tyn y Mwd House

Tyn y Mwd House was built to be something other than a House. The large white window in the middle of the house bridges two house’s. There is an appiture for a badge or sign above this window. I would think that it was going to be a School or Hotel but the plans were changed and 1840 it was two houses, it is now three but what was it going to be.

The Old Bridge

In the field on the other side of the river from the village is a raised track way to the old Pont Aber bridge and under the bungalow at the top of the footpath is the other half of a that bridge. you can clearly see the bridge in middle and on left of the picture Pen Y Bryn and on the other side of the river is the Blacksmiths house. when this engraving was made the river was not channeled as it is today. it was channeled so that power could be supplied to the new slate factory down by the railway station under the motor way bridge you can still see the weir that was used to take water to the factory
